Fjord cruises departing from Bergen harbour offer half-day and full-day excursions into some of Norway's most dramatic fjord scenery. The most popular route visits Mostraumen (the narrow of Osterfjorden), gliding past waterfalls, steep mountainsides, and remote farms.

The Bergen Railway (Bergensbanen) is one of Europe's most celebrated scenic train journeys, climbing from sea level in Bergen to the 1,237 m Hardangervidda plateau before descending to Oslo. The 7-hour ride passes through fjord valleys, alpine lakes, and bare mountain tundra.

The hiking trail to the summit of Mt. Ulriken (643 m) is Bergen's most popular mountain hike, offering challenging terrain and spectacular panoramic rewards. The trail starts from the Montana youth hostel area and climbs steeply through birch forest before emerging above the treeline.
Stoltzekleiven is an 850-step staircase climbing the hillside behind Sandviken to the summit of Sandviksfjellet (378 m). Built as a fitness trail, it has become a cult workout for Bergen locals and a surprisingly popular tourist attraction for the views at the top.

Fjellveien is a scenic hillside walkway that follows the contour of the mountains above Bergen at roughly 80 metres altitude. Stretching about 3 km, it offers continuous panoramic views of the city, harbour, and surrounding mountains without any steep climbs.
