Phuket Old Town is the cultural heart of the island, centred on Thalang, Dibuk, Phang Nga, and Krabi roads. Its colourful Sino-Portuguese shophouses — built by tin-mining magnates in the late 19th century — now house boutique cafés, galleries, and guesthouses.

Phuket's Old Town hosts a growing collection of over 20 large-scale murals, created as part of community art projects and the Phuket Old Town Festival. The works depict local history, daily life, and cultural themes across building façades and alleyway walls.

This self-guided walking route covers the finest concentration of Sino-Portuguese architecture in Thailand, centred on Thalang Road, Dibuk Road, Phang Nga Road, and Soi Romanee. The pastel-painted shophouses blend Hokkien Chinese, Malay, and European colonial design elements.
