Neighborhoods in Ljubljana

Ljubljana's Old Town is a car-free medieval quarter stretching along both banks of the Ljubljanica River. Plečnik's colonnades, Baroque facades, and a continuous strip of riverside cafés create one of Europe's most charming pedestrian zones.

Metelkova City (Metelkova mesto) is an autonomous cultural center in former Yugoslav military barracks. Covered in street art and graffiti, it serves as Ljubljana's alternative culture hub with galleries, studios, concert venues, and nightclubs.

Krakovo is a quiet, village-like neighborhood just south of the old town, considered Ljubljana's oldest suburb. It is known for its community vegetable gardens, narrow streets, and Plečnik's Church of St. Michael.
