Slottsskogen is Gothenburg's most beloved city park — a 137-hectare green lung with open meadows, ancient oaks, ponds, and a free mini-zoo with Nordic animals. Locals use it year-round for jogging, picnics, and the annual Way Out West music festival.

Gothenburg Botanical Garden (Botaniska Trädgården) is one of the largest and most biodiverse botanical gardens in Europe, home to roughly 16,000 species across 175 hectares. Beyond the formal gardens, extensive nature reserves with forests and meadows make it a peaceful escape from the city.

Trädgårdsföreningen (the Garden Society of Gothenburg) is a beautifully maintained 19th-century park right in the city centre. Its centrepiece is the magnificent 1878 Palm House — a crystal palace of iron and glass — surrounded by formal rose beds, a playground, and seasonal flower displays.
