Trädgårdsföreningen (the Garden Society of Gothenburg) is a beautifully maintained 19th-century park right in the city centre. Its centrepiece is the magnificent 1878 Palm House — a crystal palace of iron and glass — surrounded by formal rose beds, a playground, and seasonal flower displays.
The park was founded in 1842 by a private gardening society and opened to the public. The iconic Palm House was completed in 1878, inspired by London's Crystal Palace. It was severely damaged in a fire in 2019 but has been meticulously restored and reopened in 2023.
