Tjörnin is a serene city-centre lake bordered by walkways, green lawns, and some of Reykjavík's most beautiful houses. Home to over 40 bird species, it offers a peaceful oasis minutes from the bustle of Laugavegur.

Hljómskálagarður is a tranquil sculpture park stretching along the south shore of Tjörnin, offering open lawns, mature trees, and an outdoor collection of works by prominent Icelandic artists.

Laugardalur (Hot Spring Valley) is Reykjavík's largest park and recreational area, named for the geothermal springs once used for laundry. Today it encompasses a botanical garden, a zoo, sports facilities, and one of the city's best swimming pools.
