Nea Kameni is the youngest volcanic island in the eastern Mediterranean, rising from the center of the Santorini caldera. Still classified as an active volcano, it offers visitors the rare experience of walking across a volcanic landscape with steaming fumaroles, sulfur deposits, and multiple craters formed by eruptions spanning from 1573 to 1950.

Palea Kameni is a small volcanic islet west of Nea Kameni where underwater volcanic vents heat the surrounding seawater, creating natural hot springs. Visitors swim from their boats to the sulfurous warm waters in a vivid yellow-green bay that contrasts dramatically with the deep blue Aegean.
Santo Wines is a cooperative winery perched on the edge of the caldera in Pyrgos, producing wines from Santorini's indigenous Assyrtiko grape variety. With a large terrace overlooking the caldera and a modern tasting room, it has become the island's most visited winery, combining viticulture education with spectacular volcanic scenery.

Venetsanos Winery is a historic gravity-fed winery built into the caldera cliffs at Megalochori, offering one of the most dramatic wine-tasting settings in the Mediterranean. The restored industrial architecture combines with panoramic caldera views and premium volcanic wines to create an unforgettable viticultural experience.

A caldera boat tour is the quintessential Santorini experience, offering a half-day or full-day cruise around the volcanic islands within the flooded crater. Tours typically visit Nea Kameni volcano, the Palea Kameni hot springs, and optionally Thirassia island, culminating in a sunset viewing from the water.

The Fira to Oia caldera trail is a 10-kilometer clifftop hiking path that traverses the entire western rim of the Santorini caldera. Widely considered one of the most scenic walks in all of Greece, it passes through four villages — Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia — with continuous panoramic views of the volcanic crater, the sea, and the surrounding islands.
