Viewpoints in Cairo

The open-air north terrace of Cairo Tower offers panoramic views without the glass enclosure of the main observation deck. At 187 metres, the lotus-shaped tower provides a bird's-eye sweep across the Nile, Tahrir Square and the distant pyramids.

The Cairo Tower is a 187-metre-tall concrete tower on Gezira Island in the Nile, shaped like a stylized pharaonic lotus plant. Its revolving observation deck offers the most complete aerial view of the city.

The Mokattam Plateau drops away in limestone cliffs above eastern Cairo, offering one of the city's most dramatic panoramas. From the cliff-edge viewpoints, the Nile, the minarets of Islamic Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza are all visible in a single sweeping gaze.
