The hillside terrace above Daniel's Tomb provides a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Siab River valley, the grassy mounds of Afrosiyob, and the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. This elevated spot offers one of the best unobstructed panoramas in Samarkand, particularly beautiful in late afternoon light.
The hilltop above Daniel's Tomb has been a natural viewpoint since antiquity, likely used by the ancient Sogdians for its commanding position over the Siab valley. The current terrace was improved as part of the Daniel's Tomb site restoration.
