Toqi-Sarrafon ('Dome of the Money-Changers') is the smallest of Bukhara's three remaining covered bazaar domes, historically the market where merchants exchanged currencies from across the Silk Road. Today it sells handicrafts and textiles.
Built in the 16th century when Bukhara was one of the wealthiest cities on the Silk Road. Money changers served the caravans arriving from distant lands, converting currencies to facilitate trade. The dome survived the centuries largely intact and was restored in the post-independence period.
