Every Sunday from 16:00 to 22:00, Thalang Road in Old Town is closed to traffic and transforms into a lively walking street market. The Sino-Portuguese shophouse backdrop gives it a distinctly atmospheric setting unique among Phuket's markets.

History

The Sunday Walking Street was launched in 2013 as part of Phuket Town's cultural revival efforts, modelled on the successful walking streets of Chiang Mai.
