Overview
Karon Viewpoint (also known as Kata Viewpoint or Three Beaches Viewpoint) is a roadside platform perched on the headland between Kata Noi and Nai Harn. It delivers one of Phuket's most iconic panoramas — three magnificent bays spread out below.
Highlights
- Three-Beach View: Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon beaches are all visible in one sweeping panorama, framed by coconut palms.
- Photo Opportunity: The classic Phuket postcard shot — best photographed in morning light when the colours are richest.
- Quick Stop: A small car park and drink vendors make this an easy 15-minute stop.
History
The viewpoint was established as an official scenic lookout by the Phuket provincial government in the 1990s as tourism along the west coast boomed.
Visitor Tips
- Morning light: Visit before 10:00 for the most vivid colours with the sun behind you.
- Combine: Easily combined with a drive to Promthep Cape or Windmill Viewpoint.
- Duration: 15–30 minutes.
