Clausen is a narrow valley neighbourhood stretching along the Alzette River northeast of the Grund. Once dominated by the Mousel brewery, it has reinvented itself as Luxembourg's nightlife corridor, known locally as 'Rives de Clausen.'
Brewing began here in 1511. By the late 19th century Mousel was the Grand Duchy's largest brewery. After operations moved out of the valley, a 2008 redevelopment created the Rives complex.
