Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium is the large hill (K-90) venue built for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, still used for international FIS World Cup competitions. A chairlift carries visitors to the observation lounge at the top of the jump, providing one of the most dramatic viewpoints in Sapporo — a sweeping panorama from the mountains to the ocean.
The original jump was built in 1931 and expanded for the 1972 Olympics, where Yukio Kasaya won Japan's first Winter Olympic gold medal on this hill. The facility was renovated in 2007 to meet modern FIS standards and continues to host World Cup and continental events.
