Overview

The JR Tower Observation Deck T38 sits on the 38th floor of the JR Tower directly above Sapporo Station, standing 160 meters above ground. The deck offers 360-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows, with compass labels identifying distant peaks, the Ishikari Plain, and the port of Otaru on a clear day.

History

JR Tower opened in 2003 as a mixed-use complex above Sapporo Station, developed by JR Hokkaido. At 173 meters, it is one of the tallest buildings in Hokkaido. The observation deck was designed as a public amenity to complement the commercial floors below.
