Activities in Langkawi

The Langkawi Mangrove Tour is a boat-based exploration of the Kilim River's mangrove ecosystem, winding through narrow channels flanked by stilt-rooted trees to reach hidden caves, eagle-watching spots, and floating fish farms. It's one of Langkawi's signature experiences.

The Island Hopping Tour is Langkawi's most popular excursion, a half-day speedboat trip visiting three islands in the southern archipelago: Pulau Dayang Bunting (Pregnant Maiden Lake), Pulau Singa Besar (eagle watching), and Pulau Beras Basah (pristine swimming beach).

Pulau Payar Marine Park is a protected cluster of four small islands 30 km south of Langkawi, offering Malaysia's best coral reef snorkelling and diving in the northern Strait of Malacca. A floating platform serves as a base for swimming among baby blacktip reef sharks, tropical fish, and vibrant coral.

Langkawi's sunset cruises offer a magical way to end the day — sailing through the archipelago on a catamaran or yacht as the sun drops into the Andaman Sea. Most cruises include a barbecue dinner, drinks, and swimming stops at secluded islands.

The Gunung Raya hiking trail is a challenging jungle trek to the summit of Langkawi's highest peak at 881 metres. The trail winds through pristine lowland and montane rainforest, passing strangler figs, pitcher plants, and offering chances to spot hornbills, macaques, and Dusky Leaf monkeys.
