Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a 68-acre park along the western edge of Point Loma, where eroded sandstone bluffs drop dramatically into the Pacific. It is San Diego's most spectacular sunset viewing location.
The cliffs have been eroding for millennia, creating the dramatic landscape visible today. The park was established in 1983 to protect the coastline from development. Ongoing erosion means the cliff edge changes over time.
