Mission Beach Boardwalk is a 5-km concrete path running along the oceanfront from South Mission Beach to Pacific Beach. It connects two of San Diego's most popular beaches, passing beach volleyball courts, surf breaks, and the historic Belmont Park amusement rides.
Mission Beach was developed as a resort community in the 1920s by John D. Spreckels. The boardwalk and Belmont Park were built as part of this vision. The Giant Dipper roller coaster (1925) was restored and continues to operate today.
