Hoyt Arboretum is a 187-acre tree museum within Washington Park, containing over 2,300 species of trees and shrubs from around the world connected by 19 km of walking trails through the urban forest.
Founded in 1928 in response to fears that native trees were being lost to logging, the arboretum was planted with species from six continents. The Redwood Deck, completed in 2009, provides an elevated viewing platform among the treetops.
