Cathedral Park sits beneath the arches of the St. Johns Bridge on the Willamette River. The bridge's Gothic arches create a cathedral-like canopy overhead, making it one of the most photogenic parks in Portland.
The park was dedicated in 1980 after a community campaign to transform the riverfront beneath the bridge. Local resident Howard Galbraith championed the effort for over a decade before the city completed the park.
