The Denver Art Museum is one of the largest art museums between Chicago and the West Coast, housing a collection of over 70,000 works. The striking Hamilton Building, designed by Daniel Libeskind, is itself a sculptural landmark of angular titanium and glass.
Founded in 1893 as the Denver Artists' Club, the museum moved through several locations before settling in its Civic Center campus. The original Gio Ponti-designed North Building opened in 1971, and the Libeskind addition followed in 2006.
