Clyfford Still Museum

The Clyfford Still Museum is dedicated exclusively to the work of American Abstract Expressionist painter Clyfford Still, housing 95% of his lifetime output — over 3,125 works. The minimalist concrete building by Brad Cloepfil sits next to the Denver Art Museum.

History

Clyfford Still bequeathed his entire estate to the city that would build a permanent museum for his work. Denver was selected in 2004, and the museum opened in 2011. Still's instruction that his work never be sold has kept the collection intact.
