The Museum of the Weird on East 6th Street is a quirky collection of oddities, sideshow artifacts, and curiosities. It embraces Austin's "Keep Austin Weird" motto with exhibits ranging from shrunken heads to wax figures of movie monsters.
Opened in 2005 by Steve Busti, the museum grew from a small collection above a gift shop to a full multi-room experience. It has become a beloved Sixth Street landmark embodying Austin's eccentric culture.
