The Mexic-Arte Museum is one of the few museums in the United States dedicated to traditional and contemporary Mexican, Latino, and Latin American art. Located on Congress Avenue downtown, it hosts rotating exhibitions and cultural programs.
Founded in 1984 by artists Sylvia Orozco and Pio Pulido, the museum began as a small gallery. It moved to its current Congress Avenue location in 1988 and was designated the official Mexican and Mexican American Fine Art Museum of Texas in 2007.
