Overview

The Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and Museum on the University of Texas campus chronicles the life and presidency of the 36th president. It is one of 13 presidential libraries administered by the National Archives.

Highlights

• Oval Office Replica: A seven-eighths-scale reproduction of Johnson's Oval Office.

History

Dedicated in 1971, the library was the first presidential library to open while its subject was still living. LBJ personally oversaw aspects of its design and frequently visited until his death in 1973.
