Pohang Space Walk (Space Walk Skywalk)

Overview

The Pohang Space Walk is a striking steel-loop structure rising 25 metres above the waterfront near Yeongildae Beach. Designed by POSCO A&C architects and inspired by a Möbius strip, the walkway twists and turns 333 metres through the air, offering ever-changing views of the harbour, sea, and city skyline.

• Infinity Loop Design: The continuous looping path has no start or end point — visitors can enter from multiple directions and experience different perspectives.
• Night Illumination: The structure is lit with colour-changing LEDs after dark, creating dramatic reflections on the water below.
• Panoramic Views: From the highest point, views stretch across Yeongil Bay to the mountains behind Pohang.

History

Completed in 2018 as part of Pohang's urban regeneration programme, the Space Walk was designed to rebrand the steel city's image from heavy industry to creative design. Built from POSCO-produced steel, it celebrates the city's industrial heritage while pointing toward a more artistic future.

• Free access: No ticket required; open 24 hours.
• Best at dusk: The LED lighting starts at sunset — combine both daylight and night views.
