The Homigot Lighthouse is a historic 26-metre lighthouse built in 1908 during the Korean Empire period, making it one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in Korea. Adjacent to it, the National Lighthouse Museum — the only one of its kind in Korea — traces the history of maritime lighting from oil lamps to modern LED systems.
The lighthouse was constructed in 1908 under the Korean Empire's maritime modernisation programme, with technical assistance from France. It survived the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War. The adjacent museum opened in 2002, leveraging the lighthouse's historical significance as a draw.
