Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a 202-hectare mangrove and freshwater wetland in Singapore's far northwest, designated as the country's first ASEAN Heritage Park. It's one of the best spots in the region for migratory shorebird watching, with over 220 species recorded and key sightings of milky storks, sandpipers, and hornbills.
Gazetted as a nature park in 1993 and expanded in 2002, Sungei Buloh was originally a prawn farm. Its mudflats sit along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway, making it internationally significant for bird conservation. In 2003, it became ASEAN's first Heritage Park.
