Gorai Beach is a sandy stretch on the Arabian Sea in Mumbai's far northwest, accessed by boat from Marve. It's quieter and cleaner than Juhu, offering a semi-rural seaside escape within city limits.
Gorai was a fishing village until Mumbai's suburban expansion brought weekend visitors from the 1990s onward. The construction of the Global Vipassana Pagoda (completed 2009) increased traffic but the beach remains relatively uncrowded.
