Victoria Terminus Heritage Walk

Overview

The CSMT Heritage Gallery is a small exhibition inside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (formerly Victoria Terminus), displaying the building's architectural drawings, construction photographs, and restoration artefacts. It provides access to areas of the UNESCO-listed station normally closed to the public.

Highlights

• Architectural Drawings: Original plans by Frederick William Stevens from the 1880s.
• Heritage Restoration: Documentation of the post-2004 earthquake restoration.
• Access to Star Chamber: The ornately decorated first-class booking hall.

History

The gallery opened in 2012 as part of a larger heritage preservation initiative for the Victorian Gothic terminus. The building itself, completed in 1888, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

• Closed Sundays: Open 10 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday–Saturday.
