Overview
Phung Hung House is a 230-year-old merchant residence near the Japanese Covered Bridge, one of the best-preserved examples of multi-cultural architectural fusion in Hoi An. Eight generations of the same family have lived here continuously.

History
Built in 1780 by a Vietnamese-Chinese merchant family, the house was designed to withstand annual flooding with its elevated ground floor and sturdy timber frame. The upper floor was used for cargo storage during the trading era.
