The Hoi An Museum of History and Culture traces the town's evolution from ancient Cham trading port through its golden age as an international merchant hub to its preservation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Housed in a historic pagoda building on Nguyen Hue Street.
The museum occupies Quan Am Pagoda, a 17th-century Buddhist temple converted into a cultural institution. Its collection was assembled from various archaeological digs and donations from Hoi An families.
