Highlights
- Huyen Khong Cave: A vast cathedral-like cavern with natural skylights and Buddhist altars — the mountains' most spectacular interior.
- Panoramic Views: Climb to the summit for sweeping views over Da Nang, the coastline, and the Cham Islands on clear days.
- Stone Carving Village: Non Nuoc village at the base is famous for its marble artisans who carve statues and souvenirs.
History
Sacred to the Cham people for centuries, the mountains were later adopted by Vietnamese Buddhists who built pagodas and shrines inside the caves. During the Vietnam War, the Viet Cong used the caves as a field hospital.
Visitor Tips
- Elevator: A glass elevator on Thuy Son's eastern side saves the steep stair climb.
- Footwear: Wear good shoes — the paths are steep and can be slippery.
- Duration: 2–3 hours.
