Alisher Navoi Park is a central green space named after the 15th-century Uzbek poet and statesman, a peaceful retreat between the Navoi Theatre and central Tashkent's commercial district.
The park was established in the Soviet era around the Navoi Theatre and named after Alisher Navoi, the 15th-century Chagatai Turkish poet considered the founder of Uzbek literary language. It has been a gathering place for Tashkent residents for decades.
