The Minor Mosque is a stunning 2014 white marble mosque on the bank of the Ankhor Canal. Its luminous Khorezm-style carved marble facades and turquoise domes make it one of Tashkent's most photogenic modern buildings.
Completed in 2014 under the direction of President Karimov, the mosque was designed to showcase traditional Uzbek architectural craftsmanship using modern materials. It can accommodate 2,400 worshippers and serves as a working Friday mosque. The white Khorezm marble was quarried from the Nurota Mountains.
