Overview

Bali Hai Pier is Pattaya's main marine terminal, located at the southern tip of Walking Street. Ferries to Koh Larn and other islands depart from here throughout the day. The pier's elevated walkway offers panoramic sunset views over the Gulf of Thailand.

History

The pier was built in the 1960s to serve the growing resort town. It was expanded in 2012 with a modern terminal building and elevated promenade. The name 'Bali Hai' comes from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific, reflecting Pattaya's early romance with foreign visitors.

Visitor Tips

• Arrive early for ferries: The first public ferry departs at 07:00; buy tickets at the booth inside the terminal.
• Evening atmosphere: After the last ferry, the pier becomes a quiet spot for photography.
