Saturday Night Market

Overview

The Saturday Night Market runs the length of Wualai Road in the silversmiths' quarter south of the Old City. Smaller and more craft-focused than the Sunday market, it is known for its high-quality silverwork, lacquerware, and Lanna-style home décor.

History

Like the Sunday market, the Saturday Night Market began in the early 2000s as a community-led effort to support local artisans and revitalise the historic Wualai quarter. It has since become a Saturday institution.

• Best buys: Silverwork, handmade soaps, and local Lanna coffee.
