Sapaan Lek (Iron Bridge) is a pedestrian bridge crossing the Ping River south of Nawarat Bridge. Originally built for foot traffic, the weathered iron structure has become one of Chiang Mai's most photographed landmarks, particularly at sunset when the river reflects the fading light.
The bridge was constructed in the early 20th century to connect the east-bank market communities with the Old City. After a new road bridge replaced its transport function, Sapaan Lek became a pedestrian-only heritage crossing.
