Overview

The renovated Baywalk is a 2-kilometer seaside promenade along Roxas Boulevard, offering Manila's most celebrated sunset views. After a major rehabilitation in 2020 that added landscaped sidewalks, ornamental lampposts, and public seating, it has become a popular evening gathering spot for locals and visitors.

Highlights

• Golden Sunsets: Manila Bay is world-famous for its golden-orange sunsets — best viewed between 5:30 and 6:15 PM.
• Street Performers & Food Stalls: In the evening, local musicians, balloon vendors, and corn-on-the-cob sellers line the promenade.
• Manila Bay White Sand Beach: The adjacent Dolomite Beach offers a surreal tropical backdrop right in the urban center.

History

The original Baywalk was a nightlife strip that fell into disrepair. A government-led rehabilitation project beginning in 2019 transformed it into a family-friendly promenade, adding crushed dolomite to create an artificial white-sand beach area.

• Tip 2: Bring insect repellent — mosquitoes can be active near the waterline after dusk.
