Garden of Dreams

Overview

The Garden of Dreams is a neo-classical European-style garden tucked behind a high wall in central Kathmandu, just steps from Thamel. This beautifully restored pocket of tranquility features pavilions, pergolas, ponds, and manicured flowerbeds.

History

Built in 1920 by Field Marshal Kaiser Shumsher Rana, inspired by European gardens. After decades of neglect, the Austrian government funded its restoration, completed in 2006.
