Underwater World Langkawi is one of Southeast Asia's largest marine and freshwater aquariums, housing over 5,000 marine and freshwater creatures across 100 exhibits. The highlight is a 15-metre walk-through tunnel that places visitors inside a living coral reef with sharks, rays, and tropical fish swimming overhead.
Opened in 1995, Underwater World Langkawi was developed as part of Langkawi's push to diversify tourism beyond beaches. It has undergone several expansions, adding the penguin enclosure in 2005 and upgrading its coral reef and Amazon exhibits in 2018.
