Pantai Tengah is the quieter, more upscale sibling of Pantai Cenang, separated by a rocky headland. Its smooth sand, sheltered bay, and calm turquoise waters make it a favourite with resort guests and couples seeking a more relaxed beach experience.

History

While Cenang developed as a tourist hotspot, Tengah evolved more gradually with a focus on mid-range and boutique resorts. The Malay name means 'middle beach', referring to its position between Cenang to the north and a rocky stretch to the south.

Visitor Tips

• Walk from Cenang: It's a pleasant 15-minute walk along the rocks at the southern end of Cenang beach.
• Monsoon season: The beach is more sheltered during the northeast monsoon (November–March) than Cenang.
• Duration: 2–3 hours.
