Dala Township sits directly across the Yangon River from downtown, but stepping off the ferry feels like arriving in a different world. This semi-rural area of stilted houses, small farms, and bicycle-powered trishaw taxis offers a stark contrast to the urban bustle just five minutes away by boat. The ferry crossing itself is part of the experience.

Dala has remained relatively undeveloped compared to downtown Yangon due to its position across the river without a bridge connection. • Tip 1: The ferry from Pansodan jetty departs every 15–20 minutes and costs very little for foreigners.
