Overview
The Monte-Carlo Sporting Club (Salle des Étoiles) is a legendary entertainment venue on the Larvotto waterfront. Its retractable roof opens to reveal the night sky during performances, earning it the name 'Room of the Stars.' It hosts the renowned Monte-Carlo Sporting Summer Festival.
Highlights
- Retractable Roof: The ceiling slides open during concerts to reveal the Mediterranean sky — a unique feature among concert venues.
- Summer Festival: The annual July–August festival brings international superstars (Elton John, Rihanna, Sting) to perform in this intimate setting.
- Gala Dinners: The venue combines concerts with fine dining in a quintessentially Monégasque experience.
History
The Sporting Club was built in 1974 by the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), which also operates the Casino. The Salle des Étoiles replaced earlier entertainment venues and quickly became Monaco's premiere concert hall. Legends from Frank Sinatra to Lady Gaga have performed here.
