The Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum, housed within the National Museum complex, celebrates the life and works of Martin Wickramasinghe (1890–1976), widely regarded as Sri Lanka's greatest Sinhala-language novelist and cultural commentator.
Established after Wickramasinghe's death, the museum aims to preserve his literary legacy and the folk traditions he documented in novels like 'Gamperaliya' (The Uprooting).
