The Ohori Park Japanese Garden is a traditional stroll-style (kaiyushiki) garden within Ohori Park, featuring a central pond, waterfalls, tea pavilions, and carefully composed plantings. It provides a refined contrast to the open lakeside landscape of the main park.
The garden was opened in 1984 to commemorate the opening of the Fukuoka City Subway. It was designed in the Edo-period kaiyushiki style, where visitors stroll through a sequence of carefully composed scenes. At 12,000 square meters, it is one of the largest public Japanese gardens in Kyushu.
