Vidyasagar Setu is a striking cable-stayed bridge connecting Kolkata and Howrah. The longest cable-stayed bridge in India at 823 meters, its modern design contrasts dramatically with nearby Howrah Bridge.
Completed in 1992 and named after the 19th-century social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. Built to relieve traffic congestion on Howrah Bridge.
