Overview

Jorasanko Thakur Bari is the ancestral home of Rabindranath Tagore, Asia's first Nobel laureate. Now a museum and part of Rabindra Bharati University, it preserves Tagore's legacy through personal artifacts, paintings, and period rooms.

History

Built in the early 18th century, the mansion was home to the illustrious Tagore family for over 200 years. Rabindranath was born, raised, and spent much of his creative life here. It became Rabindra Bharati University in 1961.
