Pepper House is a beautifully restored 19th-century pepper warehouse in the Mattancherry waterfront area, repurposed as one of Kochi's premier contemporary art spaces. It serves as a major venue during the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and hosts exhibitions year-round.
The building served as a pepper and spice warehouse during the peak of Kochi's spice trade in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was abandoned as the spice trade declined but was restored in the 2010s as part of the cultural revival surrounding the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
