Sanganer is a heritage town on Jaipur's southern outskirts, internationally renowned as the birthplace of Jaipur's block-printing and paper-making traditions. Visitors can walk through workshops where artisans carve wooden blocks, mix natural dyes, and stamp intricate patterns onto cotton fabric by hand.
Block printing in Sanganer dates back over 500 years. The town's printers (chippa community) developed distinctive floral and geometric patterns using natural dyes. Several master printers have received national awards for their craft, and Sanganer prints are now exported worldwide.
